Game-Changers from Rotterdam in the picture
The yearly organized, popular Rotterdam Street Culture Weekend event took place again in September 2020. The event has been extended by setting up an exhibition in Markthal, in collaboration with Gamechangers, photographer Stacii Samidin and artist Naomi King.
Rotterdam Street Culture Weekend
To extend the successful Rotterdam Street Culture Weekend event, a collaboration has been set up with several parties to create an attractive exhibition in Markthal. During the event, various sub-scenes from Rotterdam's street culture will be highlighted. For example, the Pow Wow festival took place this year, adapted to the corona situation. Works by graffiti artists can still be admired in the outdoor space. Check their website for a special route you can follow. In addition, there was a program at various locations with local artists who significantly contribute to the Rotterdam urban scenes.
Game-changers x Stacii Samidin
Those local artists are the game-changers from the scenes. They have been photographed by the well-known documentary photographer Stacii Samidin. As a platform for this documentary, it was decided to put the 17 game changers in the spotlight. A unit on the market floor in Markthal is set up as an exhibition. Here you'll find the photos as well as more information about the stories behind the game changers.
Local artist Naomi King, also part of Pow Wow festival, has created a beautiful ground painting as a finishing touch.
The exhibition can be visited in Markthal until November 15, 2020.
